An illo I did for the current issue of Ideal Home magazine. This seems perfect for February if it wasn't for the warm weather here in California. It's been in the 70s lately!

My town is having a logo contest for their 125th anniversary celebration next year. Here's my submission! Paso Robles is known for it's wine and agricultural history, both things needed to be shown in the logo and it's color palette. This town has a strong cowboy presence along with it's sophisticated wine culture, so I like to say it's "rustic yet refined". This is what I wanted my logo to portray.
If you like what you see, please go to https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/PasoLogoContest and vote for my logo! :)

Here's one of my illos that's featured in this month's issue of Ideal Home magazine. February is the "less is more" issue where the focus is on saving money and getting a good value. This illo shows IH's Savvy Shopper shopping for a new "budget" kitchen.

Awhile back TAPS Truck & Auto Accessories contacted me to create their new logo. Tired of their plain block letter look they wanted something that was colorful, fresh and would stand out in the auto world. Here's a look at the final logo in it's original form and also applied to trucks, floormats, stickers and boat engines.
TAPS is definitely the premier auto accessories shop on the Central Coast. Not only do they have years of experience doing things right, they're young, hip and know the hot trends. This is the place to go if you're looking to spice up your ride! Stickers are free and available in a range of colors, so if you're ever in Paso Robles, stop by and Garett Manion (owner) will be happy to oblige! Tell him Monika sent you! :)

Central Coast Pug Rescue asked me to create a logo for their 1st Annual "Yard Sale for Pugs" and here it is! A curious pug rooting through the goods!

Almost a year ago I was invited to be part of a project called "pie•ography". This cookbook is unique because it tells the stories and conveys the lives of each contributor through the ingredients in their pie. My life represented by a pie! So I got to work formulating a new pie recipe that would reflect my life. What I came up with is "Redhead's Sky-high Stiletto Pie" (shown in my photo above), it starts with a layer of chocolate, followed by a rum flavored custard, covered with a layer of fresh raspberries, topped with an immense pile of meringue and finally dusted with edible glitter!
Although there was no illustration involved, it was an honor to be included in this book with so many other fabulous women! My copy of the finished book arrived in the mail a few days ago and here's a look:

Here's my illustration of one of the embarrassing moments featured in this month's issue of M Magazine. What happened was kids were playing basketball during recess and our heroine aimed for the basket but threw the ball right into her crush's face (because he was standing under the net)! Poor girl, Yeah, that's embarrassing!
